Janke Studios offers a variety of classes. These classes are fun, compact and project-oriented. You will create paperweights, tumblers and other beautiful pieces as you learn basic glassblowing techniques like gathering and re-heating. Suggested dress attire includes long pants and closed toe shoes are required. Our class schedules are as follows the Regular Class Schedules in Black and the Groupon Process and Schedule is in Red.
Please be aware that all items must cool over a 12 to 15 hour period. Items will be finished, bagged, labeled and available for pick up a week after your class (excludes 5 week classes). We hold class pieces for 90 days after the class. If you find yourself unable to come back to pick up your pieces we can ship them to you ($18 per student; $40 per party.)

Date night”, two-person class (1.5 hours) or 1-day Class (3 hours). Drop in to relax, snack and make a keepsake. Pick a date, day from Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday and a time slot from 10:30am – 12:00pm, 12;30 – 2;00pm, 4:30 – 6:00pm, 6:30 – 8:00pm or 8:30 – 10:00pm all available on any of those days and call in to check availability.

One Day Descriptions:
Cheers/One Day 3 Hour Glassblowing Class: A one-day course where each student works to their own comfort level to create a clear stemless wine goblet & wine stopper.
Pumpkin Patch/One Day 3 Hour Glassblowing Class: A one-day course where each student works to their own comfort level. Warm up to the glass by making a flower then create a heirloom “pumpkin”, the cutest little pumpkin made by you! Groupon one-day vouchers accepted for this class.
Holiday Ornament/One Day 3 Hour Glassblowing Class: A one-day course where each student works to their own comfort level to create two Holiday Ornaments each. Choose your colors to match or make each one different! Groupon one-day vouchers accepted for this class.
Hot Glass Appetizer: A 5 week Beginning Glassblowing class (15 hours) to stimulate your glass appetite. Learn the introductory skills to make your piece of blown glass. You’ll learn the physics of glass making, the use of glassblowing equipment and you’ll exercise basic glassblowing techniques such as gathering glass from the furnace, basic forms, using a variety of glassblowing tools. Last you’ll get an Introduction to cold working finishing processes. Each week students will work one on one to learn the above skills through our project based learning process. By the end of class you’ll have used these skill to make a simple flower to a beautiful fish, exercising skill learned.

Hot Glass Soup or Salad: An Intermediate 5-week Class (15 hours) as the soup or salad of a full meal. Intermediate will expand on the basics of form repetition, equipment use and communication while adding…your choice of projects with Instructor input, new color application methods, developing your aesthetic, syncing aesthetic with skillset and applying those skills, glass assisting and extensive cold working skills. Each week students will create their own project with Instructor guidance growing to a greater independence. Two to three times during the course a portion of class time will be spent on collaborative progression pieces to exercise assisting skills and experience others design aesthetic and bringing your collective ideas to light.
Five Week Intermediate Glassblowing $475.00 per person
October 24 – November 21 Saturdays 10:00am – 1:00pm
Hot Glass Entrée: Advanced 5-week class. A group independent study. We want you to conceive it, believe you can make it based on your skillset and we will help you see it come to life. It’s coached conceptualization, work with Assistance and solidifying cold work competencies.
Five Week Advanced Glassblowing dates coming soon $495 per person
Hot Glass Desserts: One on one Tutoring growing towards achieving independent studio rental.
Private Tutoring scheduled subject to availability $75.00 per hour
Glassblowing Class Policy
Class Fees - The prices for classes are announced in three-month interval schedules. Private group class pricing for groups of four or more is quoted at the time of purchase. Full payment for private group classes is required and will yield a discount. Class price increases will be announced on the website three months prior to the increase. The Studio will be forced to cancel a course if it is not filled two weeks prior to the beginning date. All registration fees will be returned in the event of a course cancellation.
Class Refund Policy - Refunds will be made with the following restrictions:
a) Student Withdrawal ($20 cancellation fee per person, per course) - Student must notify Janke Studios no later than three (3) business days before the first class. No refunds will be given once the class begins.
b) Janke Studios Cancellation - The Studio will be forced to cancel a course if it is not filled two weeks prior to the beginning date. All registration fees will be returned in the event of a course cancellation.
Make-up Classes - Janke Studios is not responsible for classes missed due to student absence. Make-up classes can be scheduled based on availability when the student gives prior notification to their instructor or at the discretion of Mr. Janke or the Gallery Manager.
Guests - Guests of students or glassblowers are not allowed to be working in the Hot Shop without:
a) Informing the Gallery Manager or Mr. Janke that a guest will be in the Hot Shop.
b) Explaining the guest's reason for being there. Anyone working in the ot Shop must have a signed liability waiver on file.
Student Waivers - No student is allowed in the Hot Shop without a signed liability waiver.
Note: A new waiver must be signed by everyone, every year. Also for glassblowers, a checklist of shop procedures and expectations will be presented for signature.
